Black Shark Media returned to short form narrative when we shot “14″ towards the end of last year. Well, the edit is finally complete and here it is. Let us know what you think in the comments section below. If you want to know a bit more about how it was shot, read on below the video.
“14″ was shot on 1 night on the top deck of a London bus in November last year. The camera used was a Canon 7D and with just 2 actors and 2 crew, combined with the size and look of the camera, we were able to remain very low-key. The lens used was a Canon 50mm 1.8 prime lens with a little help from a bit of ISO in the low light.
All the POV shots were just me riding the bus on another night.

Lightly Seasoned Greetings to you all. In what has been the busiest December in recent history, Black Shark Media has delivered a number of projects in the lead up to Christmas.
Congratulations to all at Sparkler who this month won the much coveted Best Agency award at the Research Awards. We have worked with them on 3 film projects during December for Disney, Green & Blacks Chocolate and Johnson & Johnson.
We went back to the Design Museum again this month. A great day’s shoot with 10 schools all pitching their design ideas to a panel of judges – the winning school gets their design made – and the film will be delivered in the first half of January 2012.
We have also been filming at ITV this month. Titled “An Audience With ITV” – the film documents what happens when 30 ITV Executives came face-to-face with the general public in ITV towers on South Bank. A very interesting evening and a great project to work on with Craft Insight.
And just yesterday we finally delivered the finished mood reel for Octagon UK – a sports and music sponsorship agency. They have done some fantastic work in 2011 for clients like the FA, Mars, Budweiser & Nivea and it was great to cut together their best campaigns. Let’s hope they win some awards!
Plenty lined up for 2012 already as well – some really exciting film projects to get stuck into in the new year.
Have a dangerously Merry Christmas.

Safestore, the UK’s largest self-storage company, came back to us again this year wanting a film that charted the ups and downs of the last 12 months both in terms of their company and the nation as a whole. From the snow of last winter and the ongoing recession, the Royal Wedding and the London Riots, through to what was ultimately a record-breaking year for the company under a new CEO, this film tells the epic story:

Just completed a brand new website for top controversial comedian Brendon Burns.
A former winner of the Edinburgh Fringe Comedy Award, Brendon has made a name for himself as one of the most controversial comedians currently out there. He has also, by association, become the go-to man for comment on what is and isn’t offensive as was evident with his recent TV appearances in the wake of Ricky Gervais’ “M” word scandal.
Anyway, he came to us wanting a brand new website so we gave him one. Then he told us to f**k off. Only kidding. Top bloke. As nice off-stage as he is offensive on it.
Here’s the new website: http://www.brendonburnscomedian.com
Some photography now online from the recent shoot at Richmond’s Rock & Rose restaurant. You can check out some of the shots on the James Kibbey Photography backstage page.
Also, James’ photograph “Booby Sleep” was selected by the judges as one of the top 6 images of the Oceans Of Life Photographic Competition. It’s currently being exhibited in the Iziko South African Museum in Cape Town. In case you’re passing by. Here it is below:
